Like many other companies, CSI Professionals was and continues to be affected by the ongoing Covid-19 onslaught. Still, we continue to persevere and thrive for the good of our clients and friends. We continue also to stay tuned on all Covid-19 public advisory updates.

On Sunday, August 2, La County’s health department released the update that the number of residents being hospitalized for Covid-19 has declined over the past two weeks. It seems that steps taken to slow the spread of the virus have begun to take effect.

This good news came just three weeks after the announcement of Governor Newson for businesses to suspend indoor operations. However, this good news is no reason to return to normal operations just yet. We will need to continue with all the adjustments and sacrifices for the weeks to come, according to Ferrer.

As of Sunday, August 2, hospitals in the county had 1,856 people with Covid being treated for respiratory illness, 31% of them in intensive care units and 18% on ventilators.

Covid cases spiked in mid-June, and there were more than 2,000 people being treated for the virus. The Department of Health Services Director Christina Ghaly predicted that we will have an “ongoing slight decline in cases over the next four weeks.” (P.6) The news is encouraging, but we still need to be cautious and safe.

Ferrer expressed concern that there is more danger with transmission of Covid-19, because of increased contact among non-household members. Gatherings occurring across the county are a cause of concern, according to LA County Health Officer Dr. Muntu Davis. He is concerned with the danger of Covid transmission among events hosted by faith organizations.

“If we can’t find it in us to follow these mandates, including wearing face coverings, distancing when around others, and not having or attending gatherings with non-household members, we jeopardize our ability to move forward on our recovery journey,” Ferrer said. (P.19)

During these tumultuous times, let us continue to be hopeful and positive. Our doors are always open to anyone who may need opportunities at this time. Lean on us when you’re not strong. CSI is with you all the way!
